2024 Wrapped! Thank you for the tremendous support. 2024 Highlights!

Dear donors & supporters of DSGU,

Another year has passed, and while the world has grown accustomed to the presence of war in Europe, its devastation is felt daily by the people of Ukraine. 2025 is already underway with significant uncertainties, both politically and humanitarianly, and the need for support is greater than ever before. The consequences of the war are grueling—not just for soldiers, but for the entire population, and it is in the long term that our help makes the greatest difference.

At DSGU, we are focused on contributing to a safer future for the Ukrainian people. With a long-term view, we carefully plan our efforts to ensure that help reaches where it is needed most. This work would not be possible without you—our incredible donors. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support in 2024, a year where, together, we achieved significant results:

EORE & NTS Project in Mykolaiv

In collaboration with DERF (Danish Emergency Relief Fund), we carried out a comprehensive Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Non-Technical Survey (NTS) project in the Mykolaiv region. We trained over 13,000 people, including women, children, and the elderly, on safety in areas contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance. We also assisted farmers in identifying dangerous areas to prioritize for demining. This project marked a milestone for DSGU as our first government-funded effort, strengthening the foundation for future humanitarian projects.

“Walk Safe” – EORE App for Kids

One of the highlights of the year was the launch of our “Walk Safe” app, which helps children aged 6-11 learn about safety in war zones through gamification. Developed in collaboration with Ukrainian experts and child psychologists, the app offers an engaging learning platform that helps children and their families navigate safely in dangerous environments. Thanks to you, the app was developed and produced by Ukrainians in Ukraine – a project we are incredibly proud of.

Hærløbet 2024

DSGU participated in Hærløbet, both as runners and with an information booth where we shared insights into the challenges of unexploded ordnance in Ukraine. With your support, we received a generous donation from the event’s proceeds and have already started discussions for further collaboration in 2025.

Strengthening Our Team

In 2024, we welcomed new members to our board—Nikolaj, Sarah, and Birte—who bring valuable skills and experience. However, we are still looking for a web developer to help us optimize our website. If you know someone who might be interested in contributing, we would love to hear from you.

Lectures and Events

Throughout the year, we held lectures, meetings with the Ukrainian ambassador, and various events. If your company would like to learn more about our work, we offer lectures where the fee is made as a donation to DSGU.

Thank You for Your Invaluable Support

We could not have carried out these initiatives without your generosity. Thank you for standing with us and the people of Ukraine. Your contribution is making a real difference, and we look forward to 2025 with even more important projects—together.

On behalf of the entire DSGU team,

Mette Laudal
